Enroll in Broomfield 4-H
Thank you for your interest in joining Broomfield 4-H. Whether you are a new or returning 4-H member, this page has all the information that you need to know to enroll. The 4-H program is for youth between the ages of 8-18 (as of December 31st ). There is also a discovery program, called Cloverbuds, for 5-7 year olds. Below is information relevant to re-enrollment. Most of this information can also be found in the Broomfield County 4-H Welcome Booklet. You may always contact us with enrollment questions at 720.887.2286, or visit the Broomfield CSU Extension Office located at 1 DesCombes Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020.
A basic principle of the 4-H program is that learning occurs best through direct experience — over 60 project areas are available ranging from shooting sports to computers to knitting. We have something for everyone, so each child can find an area of personal interest. Contact the Broomfield County Extension Office or visit our website at www.colorado4h.org for a complete listing of 4-H Projects. In Broomfield County, we do not offer any of the livestock, small animal or companion animal projects at this time. Because we do not have a county fair, we do not have a way for a 4-H member to show an animal to complete their project.
A county enrollment fee of $25 covers Colorado 4-H state enrollment fees, 4-H insurance, a donation to the Colorado 4-H Foundation, State office support fee, County Exhibit Day fees and literature/project manual fees for one project. Costs of literature/project manuals for additional projects will be the responsibility of the family. Families should discuss cost as a project is selected. It should be realistic to the family situation. Club fees/dues will be in addition to the $25 county enrollment fee.
The deadline to enroll is November 15 for re-enrollments and May 1st of the current year for new members in order to participate at the Broomfield 4-H Exhibit Day. Sometimes members have to be enrolled in a project by a certain time to be eligible for a specific project.
Enrollment is done on the 4-H Online Enrollment System. Below are resources to guide new and re-enrolling members through the enrollment process.
